Korean Artist Association of Southern California presents:

2nd Contemporary & Modern Art Juried Exhibition for Aspiring Korean-American Artists

 

ELIGIBILITY:

l          This exhibition of modern and contemporary art is open to artists at the university and graduate school level

l          Applicant must be either an American citizen of Korean ancestry or Korean with permanent residency status in the U.S. who resides in the U.S.

 

RULES OF ENTRY:

l          Application Form: Download from Korean Artist Association of Southern California website: www.kaasc.org

l          Fees: None

l          CD-Rom:

n         Artwork completed in the past two years

n         3-5 different works in jpeg image format (300dpi)                       

n         CD must be arranged as follows: The artist¡¯s name (do not use initials), title, year, medium, dimensions, and top of work with arrow

l          Media: Visual art works of all media are eligible

l          Size Restrictions: Gallery space is 1,100 square feet, and the ceiling is nine feet high

 

AWARDS:

l          1st Place - $2,000

l          2nd Place - $1,000 (for 2 selected artists)

 

EXHIBITION:

l          Selected 10-15 students will exhibit their artwork in a group show November 24, 2012 to December 4, 2012 in Los Angeles, CA

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

l          Assemble the following:

n         Application Form

n         Resume

n         Artist's statement

n         CD-Rom: 3-5 different works in jpeg image format (300dpi)

n         Self-addressed, stamped envelope to return non-selected CDs

Please note that applications not accompanied by artwork images will be considered incomplete and ineligible for selection

 

 

CALENDAR:

l          CD must be received in the mail by October 31, 2012

l          Notification of acceptance/non-acceptance by November 15, 2012

l          Group exhibition from November 24, 2012 to December 4, 2012

 

 

RETURN OF CD-Rom:

l          Non-accepted CDs will be returned ONLY IF A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOP IS INCLUDED AND CURRENT ADDRESS INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE

l          The Korean Artist Association of Southern California will not be responsible for lost or misplaced CDs in the mail

l          CDs of accepted students will be retained for the permanent photo file of the Korean Artist Association of Southern California

 

LIABILITY:

l          The Korean Artist Association of Southern California is not responsible for loss, damage, breakage or theft of artwork while at the exhibition

 

SHIPPING:

l          Artists are responsible for shipping arrangements and all shipping expenses related to the show in which they participate
